A year later Bedlam (a hulking blue-furred anthropomorphic ape) leads a mission to hunt down the villain responsible for the massacre: the evil reptilian Obsidian Rex. The fiendish creature has fled into a mysterious region of space called the Chaos Zone. Bedlam and his crew are the only ones brave enough to follow.
Pointman Comics 3: Gorilla Galaxy - Into The Chaos Zone by writer Kassidy Blond and artist Pedro Moreo is a prologue and a continuation of the story of Bedlam, whom we first met in Pointman Comics 1. Our blue hero is accompanied on his voyage by the feline Radiant Red, voluptuous serpentine Vanessa Viperella, muscular ferret-like Morg Mong, creepy bat-like Doctor Blud and his sexy bunny-girl nurse Gloria Grimm... Aboard the good ship Flying Panda they are about to boldly go where no-one sane has ever gone before.
Our valiant adventurers face pig pirates and ninja lobsters en route to the Chaos Zone but finally break through the mysterious energy barrier to confront their diabolical foe. Much colourful violence ensues...
This is a comical joyride with a very entertaining cast of zoological characters but there are also a few moments of serious drama in the mix: Bedlam is haunted by the choice he was forced to make; one that made him both a hero and a monster in the eyes of the public at large. Can we ever escape the consequences of our decisions? Even when faced with impossible alternatives?
Moreo's art has a vibrant cartoon style with an anime touch that suits the mostly light-hearted escapade. Gorilla Galaxy is suitable for kids of all ages and ticks all the boxes for a fun sci-fi comic romp through the stars.
The story ends enigmatically: has the bad guy truly been vanquished? What else is in store for our heroic menagerie? In this crazy, unpredictable universe, anything is possible.
